Once you have looked at the rest, bring your mares to the best – DOC O LENA TWIST!
Breeding Information
The 2008 stud fee for Doc O Lena Twist is $1,500, plus a $600 chute/booking fee. The chute fee/booking fee is due with your contract and/or the arrival of your mare to the breeding facility. The balance for all other expenses, including board and veterinary expenses is due on or before the day your mare leaves the breeding facility. No mares will be released from Equine Veterinary Services before fees are paid in full. As an added service to our clients, we accept MasterCard and Visa.
Mares should be healthy and in sound breeding condition when they arrive at the Terrell, Texas, facility: free from infections, contagious and transmittable disease. A current negative Coggins test and a copy of the mares registration papers (both sides) as well as a Veterinarian’s health certificate including health, deworming, and immunization records is required upon arrival. If a mare owner should fail to provide these documents, the breeding farm will perform the needed tests, etc. and the veterinary work will be billed to the owner.
Mare Care
Superior mare care is available for $15.00 a day/dry and $18.00 a day/wet per mare at Equine Veterinary Services. All mares are grained twice a day and provided with adequate roughage from costal or alfalfa hay or pasture turnout.
Incentive Programs
All Doc O Lena Twist foals are eligible for the AQHA Incentive Fund, and the Cutting Bonanza.
Shipped Semen
In addition to the regular breeding fee, those requesting shipped or frozen semen will incur the charges listed below. Our extensive experience in shipping semen has resulted in the following guidelines. Please review these guidelines and contact our office should you have any questions.
The stud fee and the breeding fee must be pre-paid prior to any semen shipment from Equine Veterinary Services. There is no exception. The first semen shipment is included in the chute/booking fee charge. For each additional shipment originating from Equine Veterinary Services there will be a $250 charge to the mare owner. This fee includes “normal” shipping charges via FedEx Express Priority Overnight Service or United Parcel Service (UPS). Shipping charges not considered “normal” include same day Federal Express shipments, counter to counter air transports, and shipments outside of the Continental U.S. will be billed as an additional charge.
The $250 charge applied each time the semen is shipped after the initial shipment. It is imperative that your veterinarian is aware of your mare’s current breeding status and is confident that she is in fact ready to be bred. It is best to have your veterinarian to contact the Equine Veterinary Services team at (972) 524-7075 at least 2 days prior to when he/she believes they will actually need semen for your mare. This will help us to plan for your potential needs for semen.
Please remind your veterinarian to complete the AQHA Insemination Report that will be sent with your semen shipment and return it promptly to us at Equine Veterinary Services, 505 FM 2578, Terrell, Texas 75160. You will be unable to register your foal until this paperwork is properly executed.
Frozen Shipped Semen
Frozen Shipped Semen is available for international shipment. In additional to the standard breeding fee, Frozen Shipped Semen will incur additional charges. For more information on Frozen Shipped Semen please feel free to contact us at (972) 524-7075. You can also email Dr. Arnold via email at drarnold@airmail.net with your questions.

Return breeding privileges only apply to the following breeding season. A substitute mare may be sent only if the original mare is deceased.
Breeders Certificate
A Breeders Certificate will be issued to mare owners within two weeks of Equine Veterinary Services being notified that a live foal has been produced.
